Dayco Painting’s owner, Jim Gochenour, began painting with his father when he was 10 years old, starting in business for himself when he was 24. As the business became more successful and the number of employees grew, Dayco moved from its bedroom operation to a 5,500-square-foot warehouse. After the company continued to outgrow its available space, it moved to an even larger facility. Today, Dayco is located in a Grandview, MO warehouse and has up to 100 employees. The new facility is just down the road from the bedroom office where the company once had its roots in 1980.

Dayco has been nominated four consecutive years for Kansas City's business of the year award. In addition to being a thriving local business, Dayco is a respected member of the community, sponsoring many events, including Little League baseball, mission trips and sprint car racing. Dayco also is a member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City, Painting and Decorating Contractors of America and Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.
